Pay with Suica on your smartwatch (Japan only)

To make contactless payments where Suica is accepted in Japan, you can use Suica in Google Wallet on your smartwatch.

To use Suica on your watch, you must have a Wear OS smartwatch that supports FeliCa.

The Wear OS smartwatches that support FeliCa are:

  • Google Pixel Watch and Google Pixel Watch 2
  • Galaxy Watch6

Tips:

  • These devices must be purchased in Japan.
  • If your smartphone doesn’t support Osaifu-Keitai, you can still use Suica on your watch.

For VISA Contactless and MasterCard Contactless, your watch must run on Wear OS 2 and up. Learn how to tap to pay with your smartwatch.

Create a new Suica card on your smartwatch

If you already have a Suica on your phone, this flow creates a new Suica card on your smartwatch. If you'd like to transer your existing Suica card instead, proceed to steps on how to transfer an existing Suica card.

  1. On your watch, open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Add Add.
  3. On your phone, follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Tap Continue.

Tip: You can transfer your existing mobile Suica card to other devices. Learn how to transfer Suica or PASMO between devices.

Add money to Suica on your smartwatch

From your watch:

  1. Open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Suica.
  3. Swipe down.
  4. Tap Open on phone.
    • Your phone will show the card detail page.
  1. Tap Add Money.

From your paired phone:

  1. Open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
  2. Tap Google and then Google Wallet and then Suica.
  3. Tap Add Money.
    • Your phone will show the card detail page.
  4. On your phone, tap Add Money.
    • Select the amount of money you want to add.
  5. Tap Select card.
  6. Add or choose a payment method.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    • You’ll find your updated card balance.

Make a payment in store

  1. Go to a contactless reader that accepts Suica.
  1. Find the Suica logo .
  2. Inform the cashier that you want to pay with Suica.
  3. Hold your watch next to the reader.
    • You don’t need to unlock it or open the app.
  1. After your payment is successful, the terminal will make a sound.

Make a payment for transit

You can use Google Wallet to pay for transit with your Suica card anywhere Suica is accepted.

To pay, hold your smartwatch to the terminal where you would normally put your card. You don’t need to unlock it or open the app.

For Galaxy Watch6 users, hold your watch with the 12 o’clock area closest to the reader. Learn more about Galaxy Watch6 for contactless payments.

Remove Suica from your smartwatch

When you remove Suica from your watch, you can’t use it for purchases with Google Wallet. Your transaction history may also be removed. After you remove your card from your watch, it is saved to your account. You can manage your card from the Suica website or transfer the card to another device. To remove your Suica card, you must use the Suica website. Learn more at the Suica website.

From your watch:

  1. Open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Suica.
  3. Swipe down.
  4. Tap Remove from watch.

From your paired phone:

  1. Open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
  2. Tap Google and then Google Wallet and then Suica.
  3. At the top right, tap More More and then Remove from watch.

Find your Suica transaction history

Important: If many transactions happen in a short amount of time, Google Wallet may not show all your transaction details.

From your watch:

  1. Open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Suica.
  3. Swipe down.
  4. Tap Details.

From your paired phone:

  1. Open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
  2. Tap Google and then Google Wallet and then Suica.
  3. Under “Recent Activity,” tap See more.

Fix a problem

Can’t add a Suica card on smartwatch

Before you can add an existing Suica card to your smartwatch, you need to upload your Suica card through the Osaifu-Keitai app on your other device. Learn how to transfer your existing Suica card from phone to smartwatch. Once you upload your Suica card, you can create a card on your smartwatch.

Can't find my Suica registered on smartwatch

You may be using Google Wallet with multiple Google accounts. When you switch Google accounts, your Suica card is removed from your smartwatch and is uploaded to the server automatically. You can add your card back to the watch when you switch accounts again. To retrieve your Suica card:

  1. On your watch, open Google Wallet .
  2. Choose the Google account that you registered Suica with.
  3. Tap Add Add.
  4. On your phone paired with your smartwatch, follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Tap the existing card that you want to add to your smartwatch.
Can’t retrieve existing card on smartwatch

If you have an active or expired Commuter Pass on your Suica card, you can’t download it on your watch. You must create a new Suica card on your smartwatch.

If I transfer my Suica card to my watch, can I still use auto top-up?

If you have an auto top-up setting on your phone, you can still continue to use auto top-up even after you transfer Suica on your smartwatch. To change the setting, move your Suica card back to your phone. In the Mobile Suica app, change the settings:

  1. On your watch, remove the Suica card.
  2. Transfer Suica back to your phone.
  3. In the Mobile Suica app, change the settings.
Can't top up

You might have reached your maximum allowed top-up amount. Try again later or try to top up with cash in-store.

Can't find your smartwatch Suica card in Google Wallet on mobile

To find your Suica card on your watch, open the Watch Companion app and manage your Suica from there.

Suica account is blocked or inactive
  1. From the companion app, open the Google Wallet Suica card page.
  2. To find your Suica card number, scroll.
  3. Prepare your Suica card number and contact JRE.
