New features for Pixel Fold lets you multitask on your phone efficiently. Split screen mode allows you to use 2 apps at a time. The taskbar allows you to quickly switch between apps when you tap an icon in the taskbar.
Use 2 apps at a time with split screen
You can use 2 apps at the same time when your phone is in split screen mode.
Important: You can only use the drag and drop feature in split screen for certain apps.
- Unfold your Pixel Fold.
- Open any app.
- To open the taskbar, slow-swipe up from the bottom of your screen.
- From the taskbar, drag and drop a second app to one side of the screen.
- To stop split screen:
- Exit split screen: Swipe up from the bottom of your screen.
- Close split screen and only use one app: Slide the app you want to keep open across to cover the whole screen.
Tip: You can access the same split screen from the recent apps screen.
Switch between apps
You can switch between apps quickly when you tap an icon in the taskbar.
- To open the taskbar, swipe up at the bottom edge of the screen.
- Select the app you want to open.
- To view apps that aren't pinned to the taskbar, tap All Apps.
- When a new app is selected, the taskbar collapses automatically.
