Find & manage your recent chats in Gemini Apps

You can find your recent chats in Gemini Apps. You can pin, rename, and delete your chats so the important ones are easy to find.

Important: The features below are only available if you have Gemini Apps Activity turned on for your personal account or if you’re using Gemini with a work or school account.

Find your pinned & recent chats

On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu .
On the side panel, find your pinned and recent chats.

Pin a recent chat

If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu .
On the side panel, under “Recent,” hover over the chat you want to pin.
Click More Pin .
Optionally, edit the name of your chat.
Click Pin. You can find your chat in the “Pinned” section of the Menu .

If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu .
On the side panel, under “Recent,” hover over the chat you want to pin.
Click More Pin .
Optionally, edit the name of your chat.
Click Pin. You can find your pinned chat at the top of the “Recent” section.

Unpin a chat

If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu .
On the side panel, under “Pinned,” hover over the chat you want to unpin.
Click More Unpin .

If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu .
On the side panel, under “Recent,” hover over the chat you want to unpin.
Click More Unpin .

Rename a chat

If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu .
On the side panel, hover over the chat you want to rename.
Click More Rename .

Delete a chat from pinned & recent chats

Important: When you delete a chat from your pinned and recent chats, it's also deleted from Gemini Apps Activity.

If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu .
On the side panel, hover over the chat you want to delete.
Click More Delete .

What happens when a chat is deleted

Important for users with a work or school account: The info below is for Gemini Apps users. If you’re using a work or school account with the Gemini for Google Workspace add-on, learn how to manage & delete your activity with Gemini for Google Workspace.

If you delete a chat in pinned and recent chats, it also deletes the related activity from Gemini Apps Activity. If data in Gemini Apps Activity is deleted, then the activity won't appear in recent and pinned chats.

If you turn off Gemini Apps Activity, it doesn’t delete your past data, but you can manually delete it anytime at myactivity.google.com/product/gemini.

Conversations that have been reviewed or annotated by human reviewers are not deleted when you delete your Gemini Apps activity because they are kept separately and are not connected to your Google Account. Instead, they are retained for up to three years.

Even when Gemini Apps Activity is off, your conversations will be saved with your account for up to 72 hours to allow Google to provide the service and process any feedback. This activity won’t appear in your Gemini Apps Activity.
